Red Light Therapy is a process of emitting light wavelengths through the skin to stimulate your body's natural healing and regeneration processes. 

How does red light therapy work?

When delivered within the optimal wavelengths and energy levels, red and near infrared light protect your body's cells from nitric oxide damage, which can otherwise stop the cells production of ATP when you're stressed or ill. Red light photons allow your cells to continue utilizing oxygen effectively by minimizing the absorption of nitric oxide. Only red light therapy can reach all the way onto a cells mitochondria to stimulate healing and regeneration to help improve your appearance, performance, and overall well-being.

Frequently Asks Questions
  • Should I put anything on my skin prior to a red light treatment?

    • ​Make sure your skin has not had any oils, lotions, etc applied within 1 hour prior to appointment. Anything you apply to your skin could act as a barrier for the lights. If you want to use the lights on your face, it is best to be sunscreen and make-up free. 

  • Do I need to wear anything on my eyes if facing the red lights?

    • Yes, there will be eye goggles available unless you want to bring your own.​

  • What should I wear when I come in for my red light therapy?

    • ​ Be sure any clothing does not cover the area of the body you're treating. We recommend removing all jewelry that could refract light.

  • Contraindications for red light therapy?

    • ​The major contraindications for the use of light therapy are use of photosensitizing medications like lithium, melatonin, phenothiazine antipsychotics, and certain antibiotics.

  • When should I notice the effect from the red light therapy?

    • ​Red light therapy does start helping your body from the very first session, but continued treatments help achieve more lasting results. You may see or feel minor results immediately, but the best results are typically achieved over 3-6 months with consistent treatments. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve.
