Vitamin C is an antioxidant that you get from foods, vitamins, and infusions. You will have limited vitamin C absorption when taking orally due to limited absorption through the digestive tract. Most Vitamin C supplements are 500 mg to 2 gm but once you get up higher than 2 to 2.5 gms it can result in stomach upset, gas, bloating, and/or diarrhea. This is why High dose Vitamin C should be given intravenously (I.V.). Infusions through I.V. route allows dosing from 10 gms to 100 gms without any side effects.
The antioxidant effect of high-dose Vitamin C helps salvage free radicals in the cells of our bodies. It helps reduce inflammation, which is helpful for many auto-immune disorders, alleviates allergies, improves skin, Rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, speed up recovery after surgery, and more.
